The first fixed package train was published to the authenticated Playstack
registry on October 8, 2026. This entry consolidates the August and September
development milestones into one release record rather than presenting each
development batch as a separate 0.1.0-beta.1 release.
Publication completed in registry workflow run 37717902537,
from source commit 788009bcdad96a375f7acd71258a791ed6710929.
Publication does not establish deployment readiness or resolve later reports of
cold-install HTTP 503 failures. Free/MIT licensing does not imply public npm or
anonymous access: this release uses the authenticated managed registry.
Package foundations and shared testing
Portable domain packages cover authentication, accounts, events, errors,
validation and cryptography, with framework and provider behavior behind
explicit adapters. Memory persistence adapters join the same
@playstack/core/testing unit of work so composed flows can commit or roll back
together. Product-specific clients, schemas and lifecycle policy remain with
the host application.
Identity, accounts and subscription access
Auth supports normalized provider authentication, session inventory/revocation, refresh-reuse policy, bounded cleanup and split-origin browser transport. Accounts adds membership and invitation reads, ownership transfers, recoverable deletion and transactional initial-account provisioning. Device validation and Nest guard composition use explicit injection rather than app-level patches.
Billing isolates provider instances, rejects stale projection updates, retains revision history and exposes reconciliation and scheduled plan changes. Entitlements supports bulk resolution, snapshots and explicitly configured transactional or eventual projection. MFA and Audit compose with application schemas and principals.
Verified Free account owners/admins can prepare read-only registry tokens before subscribing; token issuance does not grant paid access. Product-update consent is separate and opt-in. See account and registry access for current policy rather than treating these historical notes as access grants.
Commerce and licensing
Catalog, Payments, Inventory, Commerce and Fulfillment separate immutable offers, one-time payments, inventory, order orchestration and encrypted fulfillment. Subscriptions remain a separate Billing path. Matching Nest bindings expose authorized administration and queue-neutral workers.
Licensing verifies signed credentials offline; Licensing Issuer adds activation, seats, rotation, deactivation and revocation through host-owned signing and distribution boundaries.
Infrastructure and durable work
Storage provides conditional writes, bounded listing/deletion, ranges, copy, integrity checks and explicit provider capabilities. Queues expose progress, inspection, schedules and cancellation where supported, with named Nest bindings and Cloudflare worker composition. API keys adds rotation/family revocation; Crypto supports host-owned legacy-envelope migration. Rate Limit offers fixed and rolling policies with explicit stores.
Delivery documents attempt-aware orchestration, suppression and unknown-outcome recovery. Notifications offers outbound-only composition and durable admissions. Webhooks separates verified inbound receipts from direct, durable and Relaypath-backed outbound delivery. Mail documents provider receipt evidence; Errors exposes final-event Sentry sanitization. These are the beta 1 boundaries, not a claim that refinements in later releases were already available.
Search, local-first and shared UI
Search provides product-defined indexing and transport with optional MiniSearch and Next/Nest bindings. Local-first supplies atomic local mutations, an outbox, cursor synchronization and conflict hooks, with IndexedDB and Expo SQLite adapters. Applications retain their entity and authorization models.
Localization supplies shared locale policy, message catalogs and React/Nest composition. App UI/Admin UI provide host-composed account and administration surfaces; Chakra and commercial package access remain explicit tier decisions. Cache supplies bounded memory, batches, observations, expiry sweeping and fenced loading. Feeds supports RSS/Atom metadata without choosing a publishing product.
Adoption tooling and documentation
playstack add --dry-run --json reports the selected dependency closure,
adapters, persistence ownership, environment, routes, health checks and unresolved
host decisions. Integrity-checked integration manifests let Megamono place
reviewed, ejectable application wiring; Playstack does not silently apply a plan.
Prisma compatibility reporting compares managed artifacts with existing physical schemas without mutation. Incompatible mature schemas can use application-owned persistence interfaces rather than fabricated compatibility. CLI feedback, redacted failure reports and content-derived build identity support adoption. See compatibility for current runtime boundaries and pricing for current offering details.
